the animators for this movie had a snowflake generator so that every single snowflake in the movie was different and if you don’t think that’s really punk rock idk what to tell u
shame they couldn’t do that with women’s faces
1. Elsa and Anna are SISTERS
they kinda have to look alike so…
and even then, Elsa’s eyelashes are thicker, her nose is more square, and Anna’s cheekbones are a bit higher and her eyebrows are a bit thicker. (im literally looking at a side-by-side comparison)
and 2. This is based off of a Danish folktale. Danish people are WHITE. If that’s what you mean by there not being diversity.
Also, women have more delicate facial features than men. Men can have different sideburns, mustaches, beards, ect. It’s easy to make them look different. From a distance, you can’t tell if a woman’s eyes are slightly more slanted than another’s, and if their nose is a bit more pointed.
Plus, they didn’t focus on any other women in the movie, besides Anna, Elsa, and their mother (who, again, is RELATED TO THEM. same features among family members are kind of expected). And if I remember correctly, MAYBE 2 women attendants when Kristoff brought Anna back to Hans. And one of their faces were plump and the other was rather skinny, I believe. so there’s that. So, the only other women characters were seen from a distance. How do you know their facial features weren’t any different? Spoiler alert: you dont.
Also, (and im looking through pictures of the background female characters), they did a pretty good job of changing up the hairstyles. Yeah, most of them are up-dos, but hell, this is A FUCKING ROYAL BALL! UP-DOS ARE IN! THEY’RE CONSIDERED ELEGANT! I’m sure if you zoomed in closer, they’d have intricate braids and cute little clips or whatever. I’m also noticing some dark skinned ladies, and also some more plump ones, so there you go.
NOW if you’re referring to them using Rapunzel’s model to make Elsa and/or Anna’s character (i cant remember if it was one, or the other, or both) , EXCUSE THEM FOR TAKING A LITTLE SHORTCUT TO MAKE THE ANIMATING PROCESS EASIER! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH FUCKING WORK IT TAKES TO ANIMATE AN ENTIRE MOVIE? EXCUSE THEM IF THEY WANT A BREAK! YOU TRY AND MAKE A DIFFERENT MODEL FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER!
Also, it’s not the first time Disney has reused models or even whole animation cells for their movies, so….
